Behaviour Support Plan Implementation
Safe, respectful implementation of your Behaviour Support Plan — in partnership with you and your support team.
Together in Motion Services can support participants who have a Behaviour Support Plan in place. We work collaboratively with the participant, their Behaviour Support Practitioner, family, carers and broader support team to help ensure strategies within the plan are understood and implemented consistently.
What does Behaviour Support Plan Implementation mean?
A Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) is a document developed by a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner. It outlines personalised strategies to support a participant's wellbeing, help them engage in daily life, and reduce behaviours of concern.
Together in Motion Services' role is to implement the plan — not to develop, write or assess it. In practice, this means our support workers follow the strategies and approaches set out in the approved BSP as part of the participant's everyday supports.
The Behaviour Support Practitioner remains responsible for developing and reviewing the plan. We work alongside them to make sure what is written in the plan is put into practice consistently, safely and with genuine respect for the participant.
How we work with your support team
Good BSP implementation depends on everyone working together. We take a collaborative approach from the very start.
The participant
The participant is at the centre of everything. We take time to understand their preferences, communication style and what matters most to them before supports begin.
Families and carers
We keep families and carers informed and involved. They often know the participant best, and their insights help us implement the plan in a way that feels natural and consistent.
Behaviour Support Practitioners
We maintain regular communication with the participant's Behaviour Support Practitioner, share observations, and raise any concerns so the plan can be reviewed and improved over time.
Support Coordinators
We work closely with support coordinators to ensure the participant's overall plan is being delivered cohesively and that BSP implementation fits within their broader supports.
Other professionals
Where relevant, we liaise with allied health professionals, educators, healthcare providers and other members of the participant's support network.
Our support workers
All workers are trained specifically on the participant's plan before supports begin. We do not send untrained workers to implement a BSP.
Our Module 2A registration
NDIS Module 2A RegisteredTogether in Motion Services is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission under Module 2A — Implementing Behaviour Support Plans. This registration is required for any NDIS provider that implements a Behaviour Support Plan on behalf of a participant.
Module 2A registration means we meet specific requirements set by the NDIS Commission, including staff training, internal policies and procedures, incident reporting, and safeguarding obligations. These requirements exist to protect participants and ensure BSPs are implemented safely and ethically.
If you are a Support Coordinator or Behaviour Support Practitioner seeking an implementing provider, you can verify our registration through the NDIS Commission's provider register.
Regulated restrictive practices
Some Behaviour Support Plans include regulated restrictive practices — specific strategies that are subject to additional NDIS requirements because of their potential impact on a participant's rights and freedoms.
Where a participant's BSP includes regulated restrictive practices, Together in Motion Services will only implement those practices when:
- The practice is included in an approved Behaviour Support Plan developed by a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner
- The required authorisation has been obtained in accordance with the relevant state or territory legislation
- All applicable NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements are met, including reporting and monitoring obligations
- Workers have received the specific training required to implement the practice safely and in accordance with the plan
Regulated restrictive practices are not a routine part of support. They are implemented only where included in an approved plan, properly authorised, and necessary to keep the participant and others safe. The goal is always to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices over time, in line with the participant's BSP.
