Community Participation

Get out, connect and live your life to the full.

What is Community?

Social connection and community participation are essential to wellbeing. Our community participation supports are designed to help you get out of the house, try new things, build friendships and be an active part of your community.

Together in Motion Services's support workers are enthusiastic, active and genuinely interested in helping you pursue your goals — whether that is joining a sports team, attending a community group, visiting family, going to the movies or exploring new hobbies.

We also run group activities and social programs that give participants the chance to meet others, build friendships and have fun together.

What could this support look like?

Every person's support is different. Here is a realistic example of what a day with Together in Motion Services might look like.

Planning together

You and your support worker decide what you want to do — a regular activity you love, something new you want to try, or a social event you have been looking forward to.

Out and about

Your support worker accompanies you to your chosen activity — a sports club, art class, community group, café, park, shopping centre or anywhere else you want to go.

Building connections

Over time, your support worker helps you build confidence, develop friendships and become more independent in the activities and places you love.

Your choice and control

You choose every activity. Your support worker follows your lead — they are there to support you, not to decide for you. As your confidence grows, we step back and let you take the lead.

How is the support personalised?

Your interests, goals and social preferences drive everything. We start by asking what you enjoy, what you want to try and who you want to connect with — then build your support around that. As your confidence grows, we adjust the level of support to match.
